Holly Anne

Today I just have to tell a personal story that shows 2 things, one being God points us the right direction and two being there are still wonderful people in the world despite all the bad out there. So I’m always going on and on about how important it is to capture every single moment because it won’t last long, but yet I’m going to rely on my mom and sister to take photos on the most important day of my life, my adoption placement day. NO, I decided I had to hire a photographer. I go Googling Fort Worth photographers and look at a few, then in the paid advertising section is hollyanne.com. I guess her name just caught my attention, so I clicked. On her website were beautiful photos, workshops and things for photographers (this means she’s awesome) and other things that quickly let me know she’s never going to go to Gladney and I probably can’t afford her anyway. Just before I leave her site I find where she lists a few projects she’s interested in doing and at the end, “Do you have an idea for me, email me?”I thought what the heck, and I email her telling her I’m a Central Arkansas photographer and found her site while looking for Fort Worth photographers. I explained my idea like this “How much more special than an adoption that a couple has been waiting, praying and hoping for over the last 4 or more years!  A chance to capture the first moment we see and fall in love with our child. I can’t begin to imagine the joy when they place that baby in my arms and I can’t be thinking in photographer mode, but I really want someone who is. We’ve been waiting for this day for 4 years and I really have to find a photographer willing to be there for our big day.” To my disbelief Holly Anne emailed me back within a couple hours and what she wrote brought tears to my eyes. She lifted my eyebrows by saying”You are so sweet, and little did you know it, but I think you’ve found your photographer.  I have a soft spot for adoptions, because… well… I was adopted at 3 weeks old.  So, I would love love love to photograph this special time in your lives!”  I was so excited and felt like God definitely pointed me to this special person, because she went on the say ” But, I’m actually in Houston.  I’m happy to drive and as long as I have a release to use the images and the story, I would be happy to include a set of 25~4”x6” prints at no charge.  Can you believe this? Out of all the photographers, I found someone in an area I wasn’t even searching for and who was adopted as a baby.Holly went on later to tell me about her adoption story and she has a wonderful attitude about her adoption and knows she was very lucky to have been placed with her parents. So now all I need is a baby! Thanks for reading my story that made my week!
