In 1999 I graduated high school, and just one month later a baby girl was born who would soon come into my life and become my first niece. Talk about feeling old this year, she’s a senior! How did that even happen when yesterday she was 2 and feeding apples to her horse was her only desire. She was unique then and still is today. Gracie is beautiful and this video is a perfect reflection of her personality and passions. Take a look.
You have seen Amber here before, as she is one of our 2017 senior models. Her session took place on beautiful Petit Jean Mountain. Amber has a beautiful, sweet soul and quietly posed to turn each shot into magic! I just love her pictures and her and her sweet mom! Thank you for sharing your senior year.
My blog here looks like I disappeared but I really didn’t! I have just been super busy this summer with beautiful seniors like Madison. Of coarse every free minute has been spent enjoying summer with my kids.
Madison’s session was loads of fun, she is funny and gorgeous and easy to laugh with. I’m go happy she made me apart of her senior year.
Most of you remember Kasey who worked for me the first 5 years of my business; well today is her day, the day she waited almost 10 years for, the day so many people asked when. The answer to when is Kasey getting married – its TODAY!
She and Taylor were married at 4pm in Hattieville among family and friends in a gorgeous setting with smiles and are celebrating the evening as you read this. I’m so happy for them as they start their future together.
My niece Gracie was a beautiful bridesmaid. Both of my nephews were also part of the wedding party as well as my son Layne. Kasey actually answered the call that told us about Layne; she was the first person to know I was a mom.
Saturday night my youngest brother, Joshua proposed to his girlfriend of five years, Rebecca, in a romantic dream proposal. At the Cedar Falls overlook on Petit Jean Mountain he planned lights, candles, roses and petals as the scene for the once in a lifetime moment. He invited me, my parents and Rebecca’s family to be there. We all hid and surprised her after. We are all extremely happy for them and excited to have Rebecca as part of our family. This is the video of the night and the highlights are featured below. Congratulations to the happy couple.
This winter Brandi, owner of Merle Norman in Morrilton, and I teamed up to show how professional makeup and precise contouring can greatly impact your professional photographs. Take a look at our senior model Rebecca before and after Brandi did her makeover.

Easter is this Sunday and there will be lots of snapshots fired, so here are some tips to get the best pictures from your camera and phone.
iPhone or the other guy – for indoor pictures always face your kiddos toward a window or door. If not possible toward any light source is better than light behind. Go ahead try it – take one with the light in the background and one with light behind camera and see the difference.
With any camera always zoom in or get close; every pic doesn’t need your whole room in the background. Remove clutter from the background too.
Get down on your child’s level; I always kneel or put them up on a table.
Lets go outside – outside in bright light is always better, so if you can step out go for it. Find a dark background in the shade. I have a row of red tip bushes I always take snapshots in front of – looks professionally lit most of the time. Getting in the shade does two things – one the kids are not squinting and two there is no splotchy or half light.
Follow these tips and you will have some pretty Easter snapshots. Have a wonderful holiday.
